There are so many amazing salons on Newbury Street (nearly 70 within seven blocks) that the hardest decision you may have to face is deciding on the one that is right for you.

Make it easy on yourself and stop in the award-winning James Joseph Salon, which opened in 1997. Today, the official hair salon of the Celtics dancers, which is located at 30 Newbury Street, was also featured in the movie “Bride Wars” with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway.

The staff of 19 stylists comes from eight different countries and speaks more than 10 languages. What makes this salon so unique is their apprentice program where students must train for over two years before taking on any clients. Since opening the main salon, they have expanded to include James Joseph Studio, a more casual salon along with James Joseph Studio in Medford.

So, grab a bunch of your friends and head on over for a ride aboard Tupelo Honey, a 31-foot traditional gaff rigged friendship sloop that commands the water on Boston Harbor. The sailboat is a Coast Guard certified replica of the 1904 friendship sloop Dictator built by Jarvis Newman in 1980.
